Bangalore based IT player Geneva Software Technologies (GSTL) on Tuesday launched a multi-lingual SMS service called Geneva E2C that enables users to send up to one lakh SMS from a PC to mobiles in 11 different Indian languages.

The product is based on the patented Vivid Technologies. It allows rendering any world language on all electronic display irrespective of device constraints and has primarily targeted companies having operations in rural areas, GSTL MD, Murali Krishna Reddy told reporters here.

“Given the booming mobile service industry in the country, a higher business potential can be reached in the SMS market only if the language barrier is crossed and the rural population reached. E2C is the first of its kind product in this regard,” he said.

GSTL has recently tied up with leading IT company eSys for the distribution of E2C in India. The company is also in talks with leading service providers like Nokia, Vodafone and Spice to extend the E2C service to untapped markets in India.

GSTL is promoted by the USD 100 million Geneva Group and had business tie ups with BSNL, MTNL, Reliance Retail and TATA AIG. E2C is priced at Rs. 7,699 and has offered free package of 10,000 SMS for a limited period.
