MTNL Mumbai and BSNL have tied up with Bangalore based Geneva Software Technologies for multi-lingual short messaging service (SMS) which was launched in the western zone today. This messaging service will be available in 11 Indian languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarathi, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Punjabi on MTNL and BSNL subscribers’ handsets at Re 1 per SMS. “I congratulate BSNL, MTNL and Geneva for coming up with this service, which will greatly help the rural population,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said while inaugurating the service here. |
